Pulse is an information exchange platform that shows citizens and police officers the main non-emergent issues in their neighborhood, and empower them to work on these challenges together

Problem Framing

  • How might we condense the wisdom of the community into actionable information for the police?
  • How might we engage community members “where they are” and create low-friction ways to share information?

Framing the solution: Apply insights to create human centered design solution

Used Package theft as an example to show how it works

  • Aggregated data through all Social Media Platforms

  • Offered citizen choice to opt-in for collaboration with Chicago Police Dept.

  • Engaged Police participation by showing solvability factors of a particular issue

  • Build a Two -way communication platform between Police and citizen to build trust and encourage collaboration
